Competitor orientation will take place the morning of Competition Day One on June 7, 2007, at each contest area in Prairieland Park. Click here to find YOUR Trade #.

The orientation meeting prior to the start of the contest is mandatory for all competitors or competitor designates. During this meeting, and where applicable, the National Technical Committee will allocate workstations by draw.

This meeting is organized to prepare competitors for their contests. Competitors receive instructions, in either official language of Canada, through the National Technical Committee or designate who will take into consideration the following points:

• Verifying attendance and competitor information
• Rules of the contest
• Contest schedule of events, especially contest start time and duration, lunch break, time frame for the grievance procedure
• Evaluation criteria
• Safety rules
• Verifying tools list and material that competitors must supply
• Verifying all other tools, materials, books or notes that competitors have brought to use during contest
• Training on using equipment unfamiliar to competitors, as well as all aspects related to safety.
• When possible, competitors may familiarize themselves with equipment by using and testing it.
• Special announcements, especially available specialized transport, designated non-smoking areas, etc.
• Competitors’ questions.
